With great regret and sadness, we announce that Drum Corps International’s voting membership has unanimously voted to cancel the 2020 summer tour due to the growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. Above all else, the entire DCI community remains unified in its commitment to preserve the health, safety, and well-being of everyone involved in our activity.

Due to concerns over health of the members, staff, and volunteers, housing location availability, show site availability, and other various issues that were beginning to arise, we agree that this is the best course of action for the DCI community to take this summer.

As of now, Louisiana Stars will move from planning our 2020 season to creating a logistical transition to plan our return in the 2021 season. Our members are being contacted today with initial plans and steps moving forward.

We are extremely thankful for everyone who has contributed to the success of our season since November. The countless volunteers, staff, alumni, auditionees, and members that have been with us the last few months gave us every reason to believe that 2020 would be an exciting and successful season for the Louisiana Stars. Our hope is to take that momentum and move forward into the 2021 season.

“We share in the disappointment of our members and fans at the cancelation of our 2020 season,” says Corps Director of Operations Aaron Theall, “I want to make sure that I first and foremost say that I truly do believe that this season was going to be a special one and I hope that each of you stays healthy and safe throughout this pandemic. It is in these times that I am glad to be part of such an amazing family and cannot wait to meet with you again on our happy shore.”
